From prisoner to President of South Africa. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary who was jailed and imprisoned for his stand against Apartheid. He later became a politician and philanthropist. He served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

Some people have an opportunity to change the world. Some people accept the opportunity and change the world. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela did both in remarkable ways that history will not forget. His example of making peace the purpose of life is clearly vital to the success of a civilized world. He left us all a legacy of peace that we can learn from and share with each other to make the world a better place for us all.
