Sticky Situation: Gary Revel tells how he was almost killed in a sabotaged car, murder attempt.

A Gary Revel MLK Assassination Investigation audio recording of events that happened in 1977. He was investigating the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr at the time. Revel says, "By the way, this was only the first time this kind of 'accident' happened to me. Each time it was more dangerous and came closer to taking my life. Sticky Situation: You are listening to a recording of me telling how I was almost killed in a sabotaged car, murder attempt. It was late March in 1977 and I had recently begun my investigation of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. James Earl Ray had already told me his story of how he was forced into a 'kind of' guilty plea and then was sentenced to 99 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. I was driving and just about to pull into the driveway at Jack and Mary-Noel Kershaw's house on Doge Place in Nashville, Tennessee.

Transcription:And just as I'm 'bout to pull into his driveway, the left back wheel of my car comes off. I hit the pavement and the wheel goes rollin' up ahead of me. I realize that if I had been on the freeway, which I had been just only a few minutes before then. If that had happened on the freeway I'd prob'ly be dead already. So, at that point I knew that I might be getting into a sticky situation, so to speak.

I left Nashville in 1980 and moved back to Hollywood, California where I had lived in the early 1970s. Since then I have finished raising 6 children, moved from Hollywood, California to Texas, and now have 10 grandchildren. One thing that happened which really surprised me was my wife asked for, and I agreed to, a divorce in 2016. Now I am re-married to Naomi Kibe-Revel of Nakuru, Kenya.
