Here I am at Carlos Marcello's hideout in the swamp. It was in this building I was threatened by Carlos. He said I could be killed and burned down to ashes in the huge fireplace. In the front roadside view you can see the fireplace and swampside view you can see the lookout stand. A man was up there keeping watch anytime an important killing or 'meeting' was taking place inside. I took a little walk with Carlos that night and he asked me, "What's to keep me from tying you to a stump and letting the alligators eat you?" Oh well, I'm still here so that didn't happen. In the picture I am a little chubbier than I am now but still the same person, despite some hard years in between now and then.

I found myself here by following the leads from my investigation of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. From here they led to the assassination of the brother of JFK, Presidential Candidate and Senator Robert F. Kennedy and then to John Lennon and on to the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan.

While in prison in 1989, Carlos Marcello had suffered a number of strokes and was at a prison medical center. Some employees who were attending Mr. Marcello reported having heard Marcello say, That Kennedy, that smiling motherfucker, well fix him in Dallas. Their opinion was that he seemed to be reliving an episode in his life at a time shortly before the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Of course we all know many things are said when people are being cared for in a medical facility and not always are they true, but, if you put this along with the many other reports of Mr. Marcello saying something similar, all together they ring true. As for myself, having spoken with him a number of times during my investigation, I cannot view him as anything less than a co-conspirator and more realistically one who had the most hate for the Kennedy's and the apex of motive for the killing. Not only did he have personal conflict and cause for wanting them dead he was also part of the Organzied Crime Family that was grossing about 40 billion dollars a year during the 1960s and into the 1970s from the Heroin Pipeline. Ending the Vietnam War would have also ended the US military's role and influence in the South China Sea and effectively ended protection of the flow in that pipeline, thus, taking food off the table of Mafioso families throughout the US, Canada and Europe. So, for Carlos it was personal but also business.

On a more personal note, since then I have finished raising 6 children, moved from Hollywood, California to Texas, and now have 10 grandchildren.

Before his death, E. Howard Hunt, would offer a number of confessions to being part of the secret operation to kill President Kennedy. He fingered:

Lyndon B. Johnson: LBJ, whose own career was assisted by JFK nemesis J. Edgar Hoover (FBI), gave the orders to a CIA-led hit team, and helped guide the Warren Commission/lone gunman cover-up.
Cord Meyer: CIA agent, architect of the Operation Mockingbird disinformation apparatus, and husband of Mary Meyer (who had an affair with JFK).
David Atlee Philips: CIA and Bay of Pigs veteran. Recruited William Harvey (CIA) and Cuban exile militant Antonio Veciana.
William Harvey: CIA and Bay of Pigs veteran. Connected to Mafia figures Santos Trafficante and Sam Giancana.
Antonio Veciana: Cuban exile, founder of CIA-backed Alpha 66.
Frank Sturgis: CIA operative, mercenary, Bay of Pigs veteran, and later Watergate figure.
David Morales: CIA hit man, Bay of Pigs veteran. Morales was also a figure involved with the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.
Lucien Sarti: Corsican assassin and drug trafficker, possible "French gunman," Grassy Knoll (second) shooter.
